The technical guideline “IGV-TL-01TFT-Rev0: Threaded, control air and analysis connections on battery vehicles and MEGCs for compressed hydrogen” (status: 14.05.2025) was developed by the TankFahrzeugTechnik (EG-TFT) expert group of the Industriegasverband (IGV).

The purpose of this guideline is to provide a recommendation for the safe filling of battery vehicles and MEGCs (multiple element gas containers) with compressed hydrogen at different pressure levels. It aims to exclude the use of adapters and to ensure safe and uniform filling in filling plants.

At the heart of the document are detailed technical drawings to assist in the design of threaded connections on hydrogen battery vehicles and MEGCs. The guideline also contains a table with recommendations from the industrial gases industry for the design of connections for various pressure levels (200 bar, 300 bar, 380 bar, 500 bar), including specifications for threaded connections, seal types and internal diameters.

The CEP provides this guide as reference knowledge to make precise technical specifications for filling connections available to professionals and interested parties in the field of hydrogen technology. This information is crucial to ensure safe and standardized filling of hydrogen transport systems.
