The CEP recommendation “Designing Test Benches According to SAE J2601” provides information on minimum requirements for the design, construction and use of test benches for the certification of hydrogen refuelling stations. It describes technical, safety-related and documentary requirements for the Hydrogen Station Test Apparatus (HSTA), which simulates real refueling scenarios for light and heavy vehicles.
The aim is to create a uniform, safe and efficient test environment for hydrogen infrastructure throughout Europe in accordance with SAE J2601 and ISO standards and to provide a common basis for all manufacturers to interpret the standards with these recommendations.
Note: Recommendations may be adapted in the future to meet new standards and technologies for hydrogen refuelling stations.
